But most people use the public transportation which costs about $5.00 and you can stop and visit the main mysterious sights of the jungle encrusted temples or stop at Candi Dasa and get insome snorkeling or diving. But don't be surprized to share your seat with chickens or goats, delightful companions. There is an aptly named Monkey Forest with tall nutmeg trees and monkeys, called Sangeh. Don't forget to bring home hand made gold and silver items and to watch the daily Barong Dances with the flashy costumed and painted ladies. Food is cheap and the freshly caught fish is served everywhere with rice and figs and costs about $2.00. For hikers, climb Mount Batukau, although it is off the beaten path, you will be rewarded by virgin rainforests and the serenity of the Pura Luhur temple.
